Spectral reflectance characterization of natural compounds would be beneficial for different research fields. In environmental research, liquids can be observed via hyperspectral imaging. A spectral reflectance library of different common liquids, including their compositions, could be used to analyzing the composition, i.e. the content of nutrients or bioactive compounds, without chemical investigations and a reduced human input. The low-reflectance petridishes are a promising tool for standardizing hyperspectral small-scale studies under laboratory conditions.
