Quartz petri dish vs. Brightic black dish

We measure soil mineral composition and organic content. Soil probes are ranging from undisturbed soils to fine grain size by iteratively separating components.

We use reflectance spectroscopy in the VIS/NIR/SWIR domains of the electromagnetic spectrum.

We compare the use of Petri dishes made of Quartz glass, requiring prior calibration and characterization with a low reflecting dish. Advantages are minimization of calibration efforts with a black dish versus specular reflectance effects needing characterization.
